Author Biography:

I have had the pleasure of knowing Jesus for most of my life.  My mother introduced Him to me at a young age.  It is a good thing she did, she died soon thereafter.  She instilled good moral and spiritual values in my life.  I am constantly using these values even today.

My father died about five years later.  He continued the spiritual teachings after my mother's death.  I owe a lot of my success in life to them.

My life is full of God's grace and His mercy as well as his provisions.  I will forever look to Him for directions, guidance and provisions.

The objective of this book is to show children that they should never give up on their dreams and that everything happens for a reason. My character has one dream only, which is to become a professional baseball player. At a young age he believes in that dream and continues to follow it wholeheartedly. As he ages, he realizes that his dream is much harder to fulfill than he previously thought and somewhat begins to lose sight of it. Not realizing it, he encounters different obstacles throughout his life which he cannot understand. Little does he know that everything is really happening for a reason – to get him on the field as a baseball player. This story shows children that not even the greatest disaster can stop them from reaching their goals and that there will always be hope, even when they consider giving up.

Author Biography:

Born and raised in the small town of Garwood, TX, Russell Cranek grew up with two loves – baseball and writing. He took the two and decided to write a story based on numerous true events that he experienced through his lifetime. With the game and his ability to write held close to his heart, Russell considers his family’s unconditional love and support to be the driving force in everything he has accomplished thus far.

He attended Texas A&M University while pursuing a degree in Sport Management with a minor in business. Book Synopsis:

When someone loses a child, there are no words that can be said that will ease the pain.  What we need most is prayers and a compassionate friend to listen.

My son Jay died at the early age of 36.  He was a young man that was full of life and brought a smile to everyone he touched.  My book, “He Planted a Seed,” is a compilation of my own remembrances of my beloved son.  Each line of prose is a tribute to the life that he lived and the lives that he touched.

Jay spent his short life planting seeds of hope and happiness in each life he came in contact with.  He is gone from this natural world but his spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him.

Each seed Jay planted has left a tree of wisdom and joy that each of us continue to live and learn from every day.

Author: Dr. Jimmie Wright

Audience: Inspirational

Page Count: 99

Pub Date In Stock

Book Synopsis:

MANKIND SUFFERING.

Have you ever asked yourself the question, "If God is all-powerful and loves mankind, as the Bible teaches, why he permits the good to suffer and the evil to prosper, as so often happens?"

Perhaps the greatest trial for faith is the puzzle of why evil and suffering exists at all. This puzzle is the theme of the book of Job, one of the great masterpieces of ancient literature. Most of the book consists of Job’s poetic agonies. His friends were no help. They simply concluded that he was being punished for some great sins he had committed. But the simple view that virtue is always rewarded would never stand either, considering the undeserved suffering of Jesus.

Explore these difficult issues with the insight of the author, Dr. Jimmie Wright.

Author Biography:

Dr. Jimmie Wright, has been the pastor of New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Wharton, Texas for the past 32 years.  Wright came to Texas in 1951 and married his wife in 1954.  They have two sons, Major Lee Wright and Jimmie Wright, Jr., and a daughter, Kathy Elaine Wright.  To date they are blessed with 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

"Job - Why the Righteous Suffer" is the first book written and published by Dr. Wright.
